Every 4.0 player on our courts started at the same line you're standing on.

Club Academy is Club 65's structured path from your first serve to competitive-ready — five courses, real instructors, and a clear checkpoint at every step so you always know what you're working on and why.

Why it matters

Open play teaches you to survive a rally. Academy teaches you to win one.

Most players plateau because open play rewards whatever already works, not what's missing. Academy is built the other way around — every course targets the exact skill that separates one rating from the next.

01

A real curriculum, not a rotation

Every course has a week-by-week plan built around the two shots that actually define the next rating — not a random grab-bag of drills.

02

A checkpoint, not a guess

Each course ends with a Week 8 skills check, so "am I ready for the next level" has an actual answer instead of a hunch.

03

A pipeline into the club

Academy feeds straight into Club 65's own events — Round Robin and King of the Court early on, building toward League Play, Cream of the Crop, and Tournament Play.

The pathway

Five courses. One continuous climb.

Each course is 8 weeks (one hour a week), split into two 4-week blocks so you can start small and build.

2.5Rating

Foundations

New player → 2.5

Grip, serve, and return; forehand and backhand rallies; the "move up" habit; doubles positioning; your first volley and your first dink. By Week 8 you know the rules cold and you're ready to be a real doubles partner.

Block A · Weeks 1–4

Serve, return, forehand, backhand — the physical foundation.

Block B · Weeks 5–8

Positioning, volleys, dinking, rules mastery, Week 8 skills check.

3.0Rating

Consistency & Control

2.5 → 3.0

The two shots everything above 2.5 is built on: the third shot drop and real, live dinking. This is the jump that starts making you look like a "real" player.

Block A · Weeks 1–4

Serve and return depth, groove your third shot drop.

Block B · Weeks 5–8

Sustained dink rallies, decisions under mild pressure, skills check.

3.5Rating

Strategic Play & Touch

3.0 → 3.5

You already have the shots — this course is about knowing when to use them. Drop-and-drive with reliability, dink with purpose, and start running real doubles strategy: stacking, poaching, shot placement.

Block A · Weeks 1–4

Shot selection under pressure, defending and attacking the net.

Block B · Weeks 5–8

Doubles strategy — stacking, poaching, placement — plus skills check.

4.0Rating

Advanced Tactics

3.5 → 4.0 · Small groups, 4–6 players

Where players stop improving just by showing up and start improving because they practiced with intent. Disguise, spin, and composure — the skills that need real individual feedback, which is why classes shrink here.

Block A · Weeks 1–4

Dink disguise and angle, unpredictable third shots.

Block B · Weeks 5–8

Spin on drives and resets, adjusting to opponent styles, skills check.

4.0+Capstone

Competitive Performance

4.0 → 4.0+ · Small groups, 4–6 players

The capstone. You already have every shot in the book — this course makes it all hold up under real tournament and league pressure, and builds the mental edge that keeps you improving without a coach next to you.

Block A · Weeks 1–4

Full arsenal under live, competitive pressure.

Block B · Weeks 5–8

Tournament and league scenarios, mental game, skills check.

You don't have to take a course back to back to finish it. Register for one 4-week block at a time and take them in whatever order fits your schedule.

The only rule: you need both 4-week blocks completed before your Week 8 skills check unlocks and you move up to the next course.

Drill Academy

Academy builds the whole game over 8 weeks. Drill Academy fixes one thing, fast. Book a 60-minute slot and a certified pro spends the entire hour on a single shot or scenario with you — the one your last skills check flagged, or the one that's been breaking down in matches all season.

No curriculum, no group pacing. Just focused, repeated reps on exactly what you came in to fix.
